Tara now holds an International Game Fish Association world record for landing a 9 lb. 15 oz. Pacific Bonefish on 8 lb. test monofilament. Congratulations Tara!
Tara worked hard for her record! After several weeks of intense fishing we hit the right flat at the right time and found the big bones tailing on the incoming tide. After hooking and losing four fish, I adjusted her drag to the bare minimum. With the last crab she hooked into a monster and chased it all over the flat until she finally got its nose in the net.
Not only did Tara unseat the current 8 lb. test record for the women’s category, she also beat the mens’ records for both 8 lb. and 12 lb. test!
